Amr Mostafa (also known as: Amr Mostapha) is a successful Egyptian composer and singer. His composing career began with "Khallik Fakerni", a song he composed for Amr Diab's "Amarain" album. Amr's career soon took off and he quickly became Egypt's new "hitmaker".
He composed hits such as "Ba'teref", "Ana Ayesh", "Aktar Wahed", "Leili Nehari", "We Malo", and "Ne'oul Eih" for Amr Diab. Amr also composed hits for Nawal Al Zoghbi ("Elli Tmanneito", "Be Einak", and "Rouhi Ya Rouhi"), Sherine Wagdy ("We Dah Yerdi Min", "Wala Leila"), Sherine ("Ma Fish Marra"), and Samira Said ("Awini Bik", "Youm Wara Youm", "Ma Khalas", "Bel Salama").
Recently Amr begun to work with more new and budding artists such as Iwan, Sofia Marikh, Soma, and Hossam Habib. In 2007, Amr Mostafa released his first solo album, "Ayami", and rumors immediately spread about how Amr Diab was attempting to block his success.
Problems with Gamal Marwan, owner of Melody Music, resulted in lackluster sales, airplay, and promotion for Amr's debut album. Amr claimed that Gamal Marwan even came to physically confront him in front of his home, disregarding the fact that Amr has a wife and child living with him.
In 2008, Amr faced more legal troubles with Egyptian singer/composer Hossam Habib. Hossam, who owed much of his second album's success to Amr, released a single titled "Winta Ma'aya" on radio and Melody TV.
Amr Mostafa soon released a single titled "Law Fi Hayati", a duet with Hungarian singer Orsi, which had the exact same composition. Hossam claimed that Amr stole his song, but Amr claimed that he had presented the song to Hossam and then took it back when his lawsuit against Gamal Marwan and Melody Music began.
This lawsuit permanently ended their personal and creative relationship. On June 16th, 2008, Amr released his second solo album, "Alama Fi Hayatak". Amr had previously complained about arrangers who stole from other songs and made him seem like a thief.
In his new album, Amr did not work with Adel Haqi and instead worked with Ahmed Adel, Rocket, and a team of foreign arrangers from Turkey and Hungary. His album has met with reasonable success already.
