In like who?Flynn Adam Atkins, like you don’t know.As one of the founding members of the highly renowned L.A. Symphony crew (currently on Gotee Records), and also as an accomplished solo artist and producer, Flynn stands out as one of the premier residents of Hip-Hop’s left coast.
With this latest solo effort, Dove award nominated Flynn offers the listener more of what the fans have come to expect from him over the years: intricate, neck jerkin’ beats, seasoned with just the right amount of honest, insightful and plainly innovative lyricism.
In Like Flynn is a heartfelt collection of songs that took shape over the course of life’s many ups and downs, trials and thorns. As Flynn puts it “This album has covered a time period where certain areas of my faith have been challenged, my career has been challenged… life has been a challenge.
But it’s in these challenging times that I know who I am and what I believe… and hopefully that comes across in the music.”In Like Flynn is impassioned and refined - an album that’s grown out of many dues being paid and life lessons being learned.
On the journey of discipleship, it’s not unusual for us to be brought down low in order to be brought up high. It’s all about a deeper rooting in the truest joy, the kind that only comes from knowing Christ beyond our sometimes-difficult circumstances.
When all’s said and done, Flynn is an artist and performer that takes to heart the words of the 37th Psalm: “Delight yourself in the LORD; and He will give you the desires of your heart”. This album is his unique invitation to the listener to meditate on that certainty.
With L.A. Symphony Flynn has shared stages all over the world with the likes of the Clipse, P.O.D., The Black Eyed Peas, Dilated Peoples, Jurassic 5, Talib Kweli, Xzibit, Public Enemy, EOMD, Pax 217, Stavesacre, The Visionaries, Murs, the Living Legends, Zion I, John Rueben, and KJ52.
