Jimmy Buffett is a singer-songwriter, author, actor, and businessman known for portraying the “island escapism” lifestyle. He is best known for his music, which includes hit singles such as “Come Monday,” “It’s Five O’Clock Somewhere,” and “Margaritaville.

” Together with his Coral Reefer Band, Buffett has a devoted fan base known as Parrotheads. Aside from his career in music, Buffett is also a best-selling writer and is involved in two restaurant chains named after two of his best-known songs; he owns the Margaritaville Cafe restaurant chain and co-developed the Cheeseburger in Paradise restaurant chain.

As an author, Buffett has written several #1 bestsellers, including “A Pirate Looks at Fifty,” “Tales from Margaritaville,” and Where Is Joe Merchant?.” Born in southern Mississippi and raised in Alabama, Buffett moved to Nashville to try to make it in country music in the late '60s.

Eventually, though, the songwriter moved to Key West, Florida, where he gradually evolved into the beach-bum character and developed the tropical folk-rock style that would endear him to millions. In 2015, Buffett made a cameo in the film Jurassic World as a park-goer drinking margaritas.
