Add to FavoritesMaija Johanna Vilkkumaa (born November 9, 1973 in Helsinki, Finland) is a Finnish rock/pop singer and songwriter. In the early 90's Maija was a member of the Finnish band Tarharyhmä before she left the group to start her own band with keyboardplayer Tero Pennanen, bassist Niko Kokko, guitarist Mikko Kosonen and drummer & percussionist Marko Timonen.
They have released seven albums: Pitkä ihana leikki (1999), Meikit, ketjut ja vyöt (2001), Ei (2003), Se ei olekaan niin (2005), Superpallo (2008), Kunnes joet muuttaa suuntaa (2010) and Aja! (2015).
Also band has released greatest hits collection: Totuutta ja tehtävää (2006), and live CD: Ilta savoyssa (2007). Maija Vilkkumaa is one of the most popular female artists in Finland.
