Neil Sedaka
Add to FavoritesNeil Sedaka is a pop singer, composer, pianist and producer. His music career began in 1957 when he was one of the founding members of The Tokens, a doo-wop male vocal group. Sedaka is also known as one of the primary songwriters in the Brill Building era of the late 1950s through the early 1960s.
Sedaka dated Carole Klein, who was to become legendary singer-songwriter Carole King, back when he was in high school, inspiring the 1958 hit "Oh! Carol". In turn, King penned a song in response, appropriately titled "Oh! Neil".
Sedaka was highly prolific; he has written or co-written over 500 songs for himself and otheres. Some of his best-known songs are "Breaking Up is Hard to Do," "Laughter in the Rain" and "You Mean Everything to Me".
