Sophia Somajo, born 2 January 1985, is a Swedish artist from Stockholm. More recently, she has gone by the contraction Soso.In September 2008 she released her self-written / produced debut album, The Laptop Diaries.
The entire album was recorded and produced on a single laptop in her bedroom. In 2009 she participated in the song "Pusher" with the Scandinavian rapper Henok Achido.Sophia makes her own music videos and they are sometimes accompanied by a clown.
She has collaborated with artists such as Jewel and Adam Tensta. On 22 December 2008 she was awarded the SKAP Jubilee Scholarship for her work as producer, composer and lyricist on her home-made album, The Laptop Diaries.
Somajo's electronic music is considered by some to be rather niche and she has been called a "true indie" by the magazine Rodeo. She states that she does not want to compromise her music in order to sell records, so in her spare time she writes more commercial songs for other artists.
She wrote 6 out of 13 songs on the Vincent album Lucky Thirteen which was released in 2007; she also wrote his big radio hit Miss Blue. She also co-wrote the Robyn track Time Machine. On April 5th 2012, Sophia Somajo released her eagerly awaited follow-up to The Laptop Diaries as a free download through Pirate Bay and Soundcloud; it is called That Time I Dug So Deep I Ended Up In China and contains the previously released track, Who's Gonna Love Me.
