Vocalist Jason (“Jay”) Hart - a deceptively quiet, unassuming man with a big, big voice – formerly plied his guitar talents in Jason Pierce’s Spiritualized, and you can hear the residual influence in The Orange Lights’ wall of sound.
Co-creator of The Orange Lights is Newcastle-based keyboard player and songwriter Paul Tucker – a powerfully-spoken man with a character as big as his piano – who was one-half of Nineties souls sensations the Lighthouse Family.
Their debut album, out July 30 on Blackbird Records, is titled Life Is Still Beautiful and has been produced by Ken Nelson and Chris Potter, and mixed by Chris Lord-Alge.www.myspace.com/theorangelights
