org, vgmix.com, and soundtempest.net, and developed a modest following. In more recent years, however, his focus has shifted to his songwriting work.In the fall of 2006 Tyler was accepted into and awarded a scholarship by the School of Music at the University of Texas in Austin, majoring in traditional Music Composition.
After several years in the program, he is now taking time off from school to focus solely on developing his career in music – his interests lie primarily in the arena of contemporary/popular music. On the subject of his music, the artist writes:People like to ask me what my music is about, and my answer usually starts out like "errr uhmmmm well", and what follows is never the same twice in a row.
"Do you write Christian music?" they sometimes ask. To that, my answer is that "music in and of itself can't be Christian or non-Christian". If, however, you mean "Do you write music about Jesus/God?" the answer is "not usually".
I write music that means something to me personally, things that will speak to everyone – in my music, I try to find common ground we can all relate to.In early 2007 Tyler formed The Funmachine with a few long-time friends, a group that wrote and recorded primarily acoustic music, focusing less on production and more on the camaraderie and fun of playing music together.
Over the course of a year the group's members eventually went their separate ways, but several of the members still get together to play occasionally.Tyler's first album, Irony, was written as an entry in a friendly online competition, and was finished and released in late 2005.
In August 2009, he released the album We're All In This Together, initially consisting of nine tracks, with a tenth added shortly after the official release date as a bonus. The album is available for purchase at Tyler's official website, http://tylerheath.
