Valentina Monetta (born 1 March 1975, City of San Marino) is a Sammarinese singer known for her participation in the Eurovision Song Contest of 2012, 2013 and 2014. Valentina has been singing for years and sang in several bands and ensembles, such as Parafunky, Tiberio, Harem-B, 2blackBluesmobile & My Funky Valentine.
In 2011 she released her debut album 'Il mio gioco preferito'. Soon after this, Valentina first became involved in the Eurovision Song Contest. Previously, Monetta sent in the song "Se non ci sei tu" for the San Marino national selection for the Eurovision Song Contest 2008, but she was not selected by San Marino RTV.
The song was entered under the moniker Tina B and can be found online.Starting with the satirical "The Social Network Song (oh ohuhoh oh)", which ended in 14th place at the 2012 contest in Baku. The track was originally entered as ''Facebook uh oh oh'', but had to be altered due to the fact that Facebook is registered commercial brand.
Valentina turned things around with her 2013 entry, the massive fan favourite "Crisalide (Vola)", at the 2013 contest in Mälmo. Despite finishing 2nd in the annual poll amongst the official fanclubs and being heavily hyped by fans, San Marino ended up coming 11th in the 2nd semi final, thus missing out of the final for the 4th time.
For the upcoming 2014 contest in Copenhagen, Valentina was once again selected internally by SMTV, the Sammarinese broadcaster. After the 2013 contest Valentina released the album 'LA Storia Di Valentina Monetta, capturing various versions of her 2 Eurovision entries as well as tracks from her previously released debut album.
In advance to her next Eurovision appearance, video's for the singles ''L'Amore Verra'' and the brand new song 'A Kiss' were released in 2013. 'A Kiss' is set to be featured on a brand new album, which is to be released in March 2014 and to feature her next Eurovision entry.
