For those of you who scrobble under the Spanish punk band, correct your tags to Las Vulpess.Never did they think of themselves as being a creative bunch, but given the spoils of youth and the chance at excitement, they settled themselves into this musical endeavor.

At times they seemed serious about what was to become, or what they wanted us to become; at times they settled down and realized they were only in it for the fun. The uncontrollable urge to do something.

The necessity to not be bored. Then the songs came rushing in, and it seemed like each day each member contributed to their own desire of being musically active, they were overflowing with creativity.

It took months of work to organize their sound; to find the right words for all the missing verses. It took months of sleeping and working under the heated roof of a tinned structure to find the right rhythm and melody for what they learned to call their songs.

Then it slowly caught on;their songs began attracting drifting minds and they began to play for their corresponding bodies. At first it was not pleasant; playing for a variety of crowds that were either there due to their willing duty to a friend or to keep out of the rain.

Their minds in those times were filled with self-doubt, but they guessed that's just how it goes. They will always consider themselves outcasts among outcasts, but they slowly began to feel wanted and appreciated.

They began to share the stage with veterans, and for that they were grateful. They began to share the same crowds that glistened and shouted according to their surroundings, and this put smiles on their tired faces.

They began to dream that things (whatever they may be) were possible, and this lit a path. Now they find themselves here; striving to not be perfect, embracing what they are, hoping to remain humble, and infinitely clueless.

They are Vulpes. Write-up by: Marco V"While the indie scene is very small in the Rio Grande Valley of Texas, Vulpes along with other local bands such as Dignan are one of the pioneers of the indie scene in the area.

Vulpes plays a unique blend of post-punk, shoegaze, and indie rock in their material with a sound similar to Galaxie 500, The Smiths, Pixies, and other similar artists. So far, they have only released one full-length album called "Nothing Special" which can be downloaded for free on bandcamp.
