Hot Rize
Add to FavoritesHot Rize is a bluegrass band that rose to prominence in the 1980s after its founding in 1978. The quartet includes Pete Wernick ("Dr. Banjo"), Tim O'Brien, Nick Forster and Bryan Sutton. When touring, Hot Rize often features a performance by Red Knuckles and the Trailblazers, a Texas swing band made up of the members of Hot Rize themselves.
In 1990, the band received the first-ever International Bluegrass Music Association (IBMA) Entertainer of the Year Award. They have toured extensively in the United States, as well as in Japan, Europe and Australia.
After original member Charles Sawtelle died in 1999, they regrouped and added guitarist Bryan Sutton to the fold in 2002.
