Add to FavoritesTim O'Brien is an American bluegrass and country musician. He is both a founding and current member of bluegrass band Hot Rize. In 1993 and again in 2006, O'Brien won the International Bluegrass Music Association's (IBMA) Award for Male Vocalist of the Year.
Although naturally left-handed, O'Brien, who plays mandolin, fiddle, guitar, mandocello and banjo, plays instruments in the typical right-handed manner. O'Brien is a two-time Grammy Award winner, once for Best Bluegrass Album and once for Best Folk Album.
O'Brien and his sister, Mollie O'Brien, have released three albums as an Americana duo.
